As I recall, those problems were fixed in a relatively recent release. You
can track these bugs and fixes by looking at my reports on successive
versions of AppleScript in the AppleScript chapter of The AppleScript
Sourcebook. In recent releases, I include links to Apple's official bug and
bug fix lists.
