Get the user (the original poster in this thread, for this one) to tell you
the first day which is a trash pickup day). Add 2 * weeks to this result
(converted to AS date form) repeatedly (but 27 times is enough).
Here, it's easy: recycle day coincides with payday (trash is every week,
recycle every fortnight). [The Saturdays the good barber is on duty at the
shop I use follow payday/recycle day.] No program needed.
Doing it the above way avoids arguments about whether to count weeks the
ISO way or the ordinary human way (which may vary between cultures),
arguments about whether the first day of a week is Sunday or Monday, etc.

Unfortunately, the above misses out the footnote to my trash taker's
scheme: in a week during which a holiday falls, the pickups for the
holiday and following days are delayed by one day. (My day is Friday, so
that happens a lot.) And the footnote to that: you have to know which
holidays "count."
[Holidays were even more fun with the company the present company bought:
the drivers *tried* to make up the time lost to the holiday, so with a
Friday pickup and a Monday holiday, one's pickup might be normal, later
than usual on Friday, or even Saturday.]
