I don't store stuff in the trash, so for me it's relatively easy to either
check that the trash is empty when I start...then empty it when I finish
(has problems with multiple entities, eg Baxter and script, tossing
stuff at the same time)
check at the end that the trash has the right number of things in
it...if so empty; if it has too many leave it alone

Others don't work that way.
