PPD/Postscript Question - Off topic a bit

Hello,

Sorry of this is outside the AS topic.

I'm in the middle of developing an AppleScript workflow for a pre press
company.

I'm wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to edit (or ?) a printer ppd
so that when a postscript file is generated (in this case by AS) the company
legend, quality control strips and other marks are automatically added to
the outside to the page definition coming from Quark in this instance rather
than resorting to some complicated AS routine to add these items to the
originating document. These marks are known and consistent and are line art
and graphic in nature. They just need to be placed out side the physical
page what ever that size may be. Has any one attempted this or know where
information can be had if it can in fact be done?

Thanks in advance for you time!

Cheers,
Greg Smith
