I'm pretty sure there's no way to edit a PPD to do this.
What you're looking for is an imposition program, such as Preps that
takes the final output of Xpress as postscript or PDF and then puts it
on a press sheet with custom marks (I assume you're doing CTP workflow).
Another possibility is to use master pages in Xpress to do something
similar (it's a bit creakier, but I've got it working and you don't
spend $5000 for an impo program). Yet another possibility is to
produce PS or PPD print files and then alter them using a custom script
to put that stuff in. That last might be an excellent solution, but it
requires knowing a great deal about PS or PDF to get right. I wouldn't
feel competent to do it without a great deal of study.
It sounds like you might be a bit out of your depth. There's a great
deal to consider in writing a prepress workflow that has nothing to do
with programming/scripting per se. This is my own specialty area (There
are a few others here as well), so I really do have an idea what you're
trying to do. If you're dealing with a client who doesn't understand
electronic prepress well enough to give you exacting specs, you might
want to consider calling in a prepress specialist to help with the
overall design.
