ok, so i've taken the advice so far, thanks to all who have responded so
quickly by the way.
i have gotten the applescript guidebook module on url access scripting and
it has a very good example, almost exactly what i needed 2 weeks ago
(typical), but i am getting an error.
i entered in the url that i want it to download contents of directory for
and the error that pops up is -30773 invalid url...can you tell me why?

set the directory_URL to ,
"http://www.web-light.net/downloads/ttb"; & ,
"US/Macintosh/Modem/" <--does this line have somthing to do with it?
am i supposed to change
this to something specific if my computer is on a network? i am searching
for this answer and all help will be greatly appreciated,

thanks,
matthew
