Label index

I have created scripts that check a folder for incoming files, by compering
the label index.
Upon finding a file, the label color of the icon is changed and the file
info is entered into a FMP database.
However I ran into a situation where while the file is being copied,
the info is entered, but the label is not changed.
Result: two entries in a database.
Anyone with ideas on how to bypass this problem?

Thanx,
Mario
