Smile 2.4.3 includes a scriptable graphical engine, which produces pdf paths.
(If you don't know Smile, Smile 2.4.3 for OS X - a major release - is a
powerful scriptable script editor and text editor and fully object-oriented
graphical user interface builder, which is free).
Smile 2.4.3's graphical engine includes a set of terms which really clones
into AppleScript the pdf description of graphics.
Over this basic library ("circle blah blah, lineto so and so ..."), Smile's
"Graphic Kernel", you build specialized libraries. So far only one is
available, the "Geometry Library", intended for making graphics for
(scientific) schoolbooks. You may want to develop a specialized library to
automate production of your particular graphics.
