Never had any problems myself reading files into memory, whether a few KB
or many MB. Perhaps your problem lies elsewhere. Are you sure you've got
enough memory allocated to your editor/applet? Not attempting to read it
from within, say, a Finder tell block, I hope? Or trying to read the file
before it's finished saving to disk?
