Thanks for the explanation Chris.
Now that I've caught your attention, I don't suppose you'd like to explain
why 'file' doesn't work in pure AppleScript AS 1.8.2b3? I've asked about 17
times, but maybe you'd rather not answer. That made me think that it might
be moot if a fix was due imminently. But this has now gone on for several
months.
BTW, I visited the "dull side" (OS 9) earlier today. I discovered, just as I
was about to escape, that CarbonLib 1.6 was available in Software Download.
But still no AS 1.8.3! I thought it was long ready and was just waiting (in
both OS 9 and X) for CarbonLib 1.6. What's up?
