If you check back on this thread, you'll see that I dealt with this issue.
it won't work for the Progress Window. You can save yourself several weeks'
reinventing the wheel if you get Progress Window Connect script from

AppleScript Central

It requires very elaborate setup along the lines of what i discussed
earlier in this thread.

I haven't used OE in about 2 years now, so I'd forgotten that 'visible'
isn't actually r/o as the Dictionary claims, but it seems to me that I did
suggest, in my very first reply to Rachel, that she test out 'set visible to
true' with name of the window, precisely as Kai did successfully. Well done,
Kai.

Lots of the r/o Dictionary indications are incorrect in OE, and even where
they are correct for changing properties, you can usually set them when
creating an object (which doesn't apply here, of course).
