managing Scripting Additions

  • Subject: managing Scripting Additions

For all of the depositories of Scripting Additions and their importance to
scripters, in all my reading and searching I have not found a stated
preference for the management of them. As a beginning scripter, I am
inclined to "collect" them in case I need them later.
But I wonder if some of them predate the current AS 1.7 and OS 9.2.2, and
are no longer needed. Or worse, might cause conflicts that affect script or
system performance.
Similarly, are there scripting additions that overlap one another to the
point of causing conflicts that result in errors or crashes?
I have added the Scripting Additions folder to Conflict Catcher 8 for
management, ie, enabling/disabling. Do such enable/disablements occur
dynamically, or at system startup?
What constitutes good management of Scripting Additions? Thanks.

Regards,

Wayne
