Speakable items

  • Subject: Speakable items

I'm trying to get into a situation where I communicate with myComputer (I
will call it Hal) It's for a performance of mine. So I am working with
speakable items. And with scripting I am a true hobbyist.

Now, does anyone know how to make a script a "native" speakable item. I'm
using MacOs 9 for this and most of the speakable items are scripts that you
can open in the script editor. When I save a script as an application I can
use it within speech with the inconvinience that it doesn't run in the
background as the "native" ones do.

They've got the same file type (APPL) and I tried to change creator from
aplc (or similar) to spc2 (or something similar). No luck, though.

Any ideas, anyone?

There's another thing where can I get hold of speech "modulation"
techniques. I think I saw it a while ago but cant find it for now. The only
one I know is [[emph +]]

That's all folks!

Leif
