I tried again and this time just tried to record once an instance of find and the same thing happened. I don't think that would've sent it over the 32K limit.

I'm switching primarily using Mailsmith which is definitely recordable (I tried using other apps to eliminate Mailsmith as the problem).

I've since seen other correspondence on other lists which comment on the same problem of recording using ScriptEditor on OS X, so I'm not alone.
