POSIX path of (path to current user folder as string)

--> "/Users/jonpugh/"

yes i did. actually knew about (and had use for) POSIX path
before i knew about POSIX file. it did take a while for me
to make sense out of POSIX path being a property of the
POSIX file psuedoclass. it's a strange, asymmetric setup.

in any case, one will still need extra code if a script
might be handed "~/foo" from an external source.
