How can one use Applescript to SET the System date? I mean actually change the System date in MacOS 9 and or MacOSX.

In OS X type "man date" in the Terminal application. On older systems, I seem to recall there was an OSAX that could do it but can't remember the name right now.

In CodeWarrior it's SetDateTime() and its long cousin found in DateTimeUtils.h.
