Suppressing Finder Drop Box Alerts

  • Subject: Suppressing Finder Drop Box Alerts

Hi, I have a script which wants to place a file into a drop-box (write, but
not read privileges) on a server.

If I use the finder's copy or move commands, the user is presented with a
dialog asking if he is sure he wants to do that and informing him that he
won't be able to view the file.

Is there any way to suppress that dialog?

I have tried using Jon's Commands with the fileCopy command which does
suppress the dialog, but appears to tie up the machine while it does so
(Powerbook G3 running 9.2.1). Because the files being copied are Postscript
files, they can be quite large, so I want it to occur in the background.

Any ideas?
Thanks
Paul Strecker
