So AppleScript gets a "plug-in" architecture. Anyone in the know care to
expand on how this works?

This, combined with the fact that AppleScript recently got "top billing"
(along with the Aqua GUI) on one of those Apple abstraction layer
diagrams, makes me curious.
What's AppleScript's new role in the scheme of things? How does it tie
in with the other event models on the OS? What about running faceless,
background apps without a user logged in?
Cat killing curiosity.
