Delete without Dialog in OS X?

My first Classic environment applet is an emigration of a 9.2 applet.
I have a wonderful script that does everything that is asked in finding,
reading and parsing data, writing it to a FileMaker DB and starting to
delete the original file; all in a Classic on X applet.
Problem is, I can't get the OS to do the deletion without a stupid dialog
popping up to ask me if I "really want to delete the file immediately."
Of course I do, I wrote the code!
What can I do to turn off OS X's condescending mode?
or at least allow the script to answer the dialog?
This worked perfectly in 9.2, I'm getting the the feeling that I have to
step pretty far backward to get OS X to work. Has anybody else?
Anybody have any work-arounds or solutions?
