In OS9 I wrote a script which turned TCP/IP off then on again.
EXPLANATION (i.e. why on earth would anyone do this)
I have multiple computers here all connected to the net via a hub with an
uplink to my cable modem (DHCP -- no static id). Only 1 computer at a time
has internet access.
The script was Identical to opening TCP/IP control panel, setting it to
"inactive", closing it, reopening it, then setting TCP/IP to active.
The result (manually or via AppleScript) ensured that the current computer
was the grabbing the internet connection.
THE QUESTION:
Now I'd like to do write a script In OSX that does the same thing. But since
I can't even figure out how to do it manually - (and am a total moron re
scripting X), I'm absolutely clueless.
Is this possible at all? Ideas Anyone.
Thanks,
xandra
