What a pain... But you're absolutely right, and by golly, it works. I must
say I'm really grateful that Word is recordable, since that ended up writing
the Word X VBA code for me (only one probably trivial change from what you'd
entered).
One other note: you'd very skillfully set up the ChangeFileOpenDirectory VBA
command, and then left out the step of calling that particular script. With
that addition, it works like a dream.
