Zoom window in any Jaguar app

I am wondering if AppleScript could allow me to create some shortcuts I used to set up in QuicKeys. I am using Key Xing to use the keyboard to trigger AppleScripts.

One of my favorite shortcuts with QuicKeys was activating the zoom button in any window in any application. I have accomplished the same thing in the Finder by "tell Finder" etc., but I was wondering if there was a way in AppleScript to access some sort of underlying dictionary so one AppleScript macro could talk to the zoom button in any window of any application?

Essentially, I haven't seen a mention of a syntax for a system-level protocol. "Whom" do I "tell"?

Regards,

David
