Hi,
My bank requires me to use an old version of Netscape in classic to
connect with their "security plug-in" (sucks but for now I have no
choice). For this thing to work, I have to have this old classic
version of Netscape set as my default browser in the Internet control
panel of classic. I figured this would be fine since I don't really use
classic anymore except for this. Turns out though that the IC prefs are
shared between Mac OS X and Classic and now when I click on an http
link in X it launches Classic and this old Netscape. This is driving me
crazy.
I figured I'd just write a script that set the default browser to
netscape/classic, launches netscape and then sets the pref back when
finished. However, I can find no way to change to default browser
setting using AS in Mac OS X.
I could of course write a small Cocoa or Carbon app that called
ICSetPref but this seems a little heavy handed for such a simple thing.
Sorry if this has been mentioned before but I couldn't find anything in
the archives.
Thierry
