All good suggestions. To which I'd add: AS&UNIX heads might consider
assembling a collection of AS libraries that wrap some of the more
useful/relevant functions provided by shell tools in a nice, familiar
easy-to-use form, all documented at a level even us AS weenies can follow.
Doesn't need to expose every last -option - much better not to, in fact -
just the bits folks will commonly find useful. Same suggestion applies to
the AS&Perl brigade, needless to say. Create a set of generic, reusable,
AS-fronted components to fill out the longtime holes in AS itself, and the
rest of the AS world will be your best friends for life, and will promise
not to mock in future even if you do $peak=f[u]nn!y.
