Clicking on a Control Strip button?

I want to dedicate a function key on my keyboard to stopping my hard disk from spinning. I have Nivek's "HD Spin Down" CS module.

The idea I have is to create an AS to click on the CS button, and make the function key initiate this AS. Is this is possible, and if so, how to do it?

Comments? Suggestion?
