I assume you do not have Full Acrobat? If you did you could just
create "print" a post script file and actually have a watched folder
for output.
I do have full Acrobat. It is just as fiddly to create a .ps file as
it is to create a .pdf file directly using LaserWriter 8, and
slightly more when using the Adobe print driver as it has an upfront
.pdf option.
I have been checking whether I can use AppleScript on the Laserwriter
within Finder or FileMaker and it does not seem that I can.
