The creator type and file type are correct in all cases, as shown in Super
Get Info. They fit the Mac OS 9 standard, which Script Editor in Jaguar (and
earlier, I assume) provides automatically.
Script Editor does not put a file name extension on applets, compiled
scripts, or text files. I tried putting .app on the applet, and it made no
difference.
I understand from the Jaguar AppleScript documents that applets are data
fork-only.
