Thank you for your comments, but AppleScript is the only viable solution for my project. What I didn't say is that the AppleScript CGIs are being used to drive Canto Cumulus (with the Web Publisher addition). The AppleScripts will take over for what Web Publisher won't do. AS is the only way I know on the Mac for scripting Cumulus, and Cumulus will do most of the work on it's own.
As far as Webstar over Apache, that decision was made for numerous reasons and is way too late to change anyhow. It's all bought, paid for and installed.
In any case, I still can't seem to get the AS CGIs to run...
