I'm having some problems with the Apple System Profiler under Mac OS 10.2.
1) The scripting dictionary has apparently been severely reduced by
comparison with the 10.1 version and with the OS 9 version.
Properties such as System Version, Serial Number, and practically
everything else seem to have vanished. My existing scripts for the
Apple System Profiler don't work at all.
2) The command-line version of Apple System Profiler
(usr/sbin/AppleSystemProfiler) is now much more complete, but only
works if you trash the OS 9 version of Apple System Profiler.
Otherwise, it tries to launch classic environment and the classic
Apple System Profiler. The command line output of the classic
environment Apple System Profiler consists of two words: "system
profile".
I tried this on two different 10.2 systems and got the same results.
Below is the whole dictionary of Apple System Profiler for Mac OS
10.2. It's about one-tenth the size of the previous version.
