Sorry for the very basic question. I am trying to understand the
language used in the dictionary of the Internet connect. AppleScript
would really be a great tool if someone figured out that the
dictionary should really not be given to an engineer to write.
connect: Initiates an Internet connection
connect configuration -- the configuration via which to
connect, a reference to the application implicitly selects the
current configuration
I have a main account named Mindspring. I have 3 other mindspring
numbers in case of busy or bad lines. Each has a similar name of
mindspring2, mindspring3, etc. (System 10.2.4)
Right now I am trying to understand how to script so that I can
incorporate IC in other scripts. I have tried to understand what they
are referring to when they say "configuration". But so far it will
not work if I use the name of the accounts listed under my IC drop
down list on the IC Panel. What the heck are they talking about here?
If I simply use "connect" with no modifying string I get
authentication failed. Yes, I know I can write out connect to phone
number xyz with user abc and auth lmnop. But I belive it also says
that it should simply connect to the default setting without spelling
it all out. Yes? No?
Thanks.
Dave
AppleScript is at best a love hate relationship.
The only difference is on the emphasis of the expletives that you use.
