Hang on Robert - I'm not quite done yet! ;-)

Since the above doesn't work, you could additionally try deflecting the
command away from FileMaker - by targeting either the Finder or System
Events instead. So the entered calculation might now read something like:

"tell application ""Finder"" to open location [noBreak]
""http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid="; & [noBreak]
MS KB number & """"

While this may seem like a strange approach, it could still be worth a go...
