Just to clarify the process, this means defining a calculation field (let's call it 'locationCalc') and enter the calculation as:

"open location ""http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid="; & [noBreak]
MS KB number & """"

(Or whatever.)

Then, in the FileMaker script, select 'Perform AppleScript'. But instead of 'Script text', check the 'Field value' option - and specify the calculation field 'locationCalc' as the script source.

Unfortunately, that still gives me the transaction error. However, it does give me a decent workaround -- I can just copy and paste the URL. Bonus -- it works from a PC opening the database as well.

Thanks for your help.
