A while back I was asking for help getting folder actions to work on an
Xserve running 10.2.6 (.8 now). Folder actions would quit after a
while. Although I tried using both cron and Script Timer to keep Folder
Actions enabled, I still have to go in and manually move files that are
missed around.
This is what I am trying to do: As files are saved into one folder,
they are copied to another folder, which Acrobat Distiller is watching.
The problem is, the folder action that copies the files dies at
unpredictable intervals. I don't know much about folder actions, but
I've gotten the impression that they work better under OS 9 than OS X.
What I want to do is move the folder action and Distiller to an OS 9
Mac and have them both watch folders on the Xserve. I know I can do
that with Distiller, but I'm not sure if folder actions will work over
a network.
