I just got this message:
ATTENTION!

A message you recently sent to a 0Spam.com user with the subject "Re: applescript-users digest, Vol 3 #2253 - 11 msg..." was not delivered because they are using the 0Spam.com anti-spam service. Please click the link below to confirm that this is not spam. When you confirm, this message and all future messages you send will automatically be accepted.

Oh brother, not this again. We went through this a couple months ago with the Newtontalk list. Did anyone else get this? Is this because someone on the list is receiving non-digest mode, and the spam service isn't set to white-list anything from the applescript list automatically?

Also, me-wonders how complicated the little numbers-on-grid problem really is - it seems like a rather simple filtering algorithm, edge-detection, path center-detection, and then run it through Rosetta (um, Inkwell) would be able to decipher it pretty well.. So many of those "human-easy/computer-hard" problems just look way too easy for a well-designed algorithm to foil - but I'm no expert on computer vision systems.

Of course, that's not the point - the point is to raise the "cost" of spamming (in this case programming effort) to the point where spam isn't feasible anymore. Something that a one-thousandth to one-ten-thousandth cent tax on email would probably do quite nicely. Unfortunately, that would be impossible to enforce unless SMTP was thrown out the window..
