For clarification of my previous post, which contained accented characters that the AS List can't handle.

On 19 Dec 2003, at 11.38 am, I wrote:

alias "Studio!:Studio Files:Test Zone:Store:Chbteau 2.jpg"

The 'b' in the file name is actually 'a' + circumflex (ASCII character 137)

--> {"C", "h", "a", "", "t", "e", "a", "u", " ", "2", ".", "j", "p", "g"}

The empty string (4th in the list) should be an unattached circumflex (ASCII character 246)

So, in fact, both AppleScript _and_ the AS List are confused by foreign accents.

How droll.
