Apologies for the X-post to anyone who's also on X4U, but I didn't get
a
response over there. I'm looking for a scriptable notepad/notes
database
application to replace the Notes function in Entourage. I'm considering
ditching Entourage (sorry Paul) in favor of iCal/Address Book/Mail
because
of the more data-centric rather than application-centric approach of
the
Apple apps. The only important Entourage function that I use that
doesn't
have an analogue in the Apple combo is notes. (I suppose I could make
them
undated to-dos in their own iCal calendar, but I want more
flexibility.) I
searched Version Tracker for notepad apps yesterday, but nothing I
found was
scriptable. I'd like something simple, but with a few more features
than the
old pre-OSX Notepad, e.g. things like category filtering, separate
title and
content fields, and search capability. Any suggestions? (Not Stickies,
please!)
If there's nothing available, I suppose I could try rolling my own.
This
should be simple enough to make a good starter project to get some dirt
under my nails in Cocoa....
This would be an excellent and easily attainable AppleScript Studio
project. Go for it and you can keep your nails clean because
everything's just a scripting call.
