Do you know that AS 1.8.3 for OS 9 fixed bugs dealing with accents
(which was introduced with OS 9.2.2) ? That's great because I have a
script that does not work because of this problem.
Do you know that AS 1.8.3 can only be installed on english systems ?
It seems to fix a lot more than that. I've got rather large
FaceSpan-Project in which I'm doing some data processing, which is
quite intensive on references and Unicode. It crashed rather often
with earlier versions, but with 1.8.3 it hasn't crashed so far...
Though it can't be "legally" installed, you can use Tome Viewer to
extract the necessary parts and install it manually. It runs fine on
my German OS 9.1.
<semi-on-topic-whine>But I must say, that I'm really annoyed at how
Apple handles international issues nowadays. It's obvious that Apple
has abandoned international Versions of OS 9 much earlier than it has
US english OS 9. And OS X localization has to stop half-way, because
there's much too much reliance on file names and locations (leaving
Application names in english - the localized names are mere aliases).
The Unix geeks at Apple seem to have no idea of the benefits the
Type/Creator scheme had in that respect.</semi-on-topic-whine>
