Hello again Pete (& Applescript-users),
Further to my last message, I'd forgot that I written & run that script in
Smile rather than the Script Editor. When I re-tested it did indeed run out
of memory under Script Editor on a selection containing 1800 tracks, whereas
it runs fine under Smile.
If you don't have Smile you can download it (free) from
http://www.satimage.fr/software/downloads/Smile1.8.8US.sit
I highly recommend it.
