I have been using Smile very successfully to compile my stay open
script application for several months, but suddenly last night I found
I could no longer save my script as a stay open application. I
always get the following error message:
In saveasdroplet: File DiskName:Users:dhall:Folder Name:scriptname
wasn't found.
Here scriptname is the name of the script that I am trying to save as
a stay open application. (In other words, the name I want to save the
script under, just typed in in the Save dialog.)
Have you tried to install a fresh copy?
Most of time, this manip solves such problem.
At least, it did for me.
See also your "Application Support" folder in user domain.
You'll find a folder called "Smile": delete it too, before installing.
Think to make a backup of the "User Scripts" folder if customized!
Does anyone have any ideas as to what to do? The script is much too
large to open with Script Editor, and I can't upgrade to SE version
2.0 because I'm not yet running OS X 10.2.
If your script is saved as a text file, you can open it in Project
Builder (AppleScript file or application), if you have installed the
Developer Tools.
There's also a discussion list for Smile.
