Help!
I have been using Smile very successfully to compile my stay open
script application for several months, but suddenly last night I
found I could no longer save my script as a stay open application. I
always get the following error message:
In saveasdroplet: File DiskName:Users:dhall:Folder Name:scriptname
wasn't found.
Here scriptname is the name of the script that I am trying to save as
a stay open application. (In other words, the name I want to save the
script under, just typed in in the Save dialog.)
It is not my script that is the problem. The following script gives
me the same result:
on idle
beep
return 20
end idle
The problem first occurred with Smile 2.4.6. I upgraded to 2.5.2 but
it still occurred. I copied the contents of the script file to a new
script file, but the result was the same. I trashed the Preferences
file - still occurred.
Power Mac G4/400 OS X 10.1.3. Latest version of satimage OSAX
installed in ~/Library/ScriptingAdditions.
Note that when the problem first occurred, the existing copy of the
script saved as a stay open application disappeared from the Finder.
Fortunately I was able to save the still open script as a text
document.
My project was nearly ready to release before this happened. Does
anyone have any ideas as to what to do? The script is much too large
to open with Script Editor, and I can't upgrade to SE version 2.0
because I'm not yet running OS X 10.2.
