I think the version numbers are causing confusion (at least for me).
The System Events beta has now been referred to as v2.0 and v1.2.
It's possible that there were betas that I'm not aware of and this
may be the cause of my confusion.
All I can say with certainty is that I now have System Events 1.2 and
it appears to include all of the GUI scripting terminology. I see no
indication that it is beta software. <shrug>
Thanks for the notes on all of the 10.2.4 changes! :-)
It's the pre-release Script Editor which has the version number 2.0, whereas
the pre-release System Events that also came in Dec2002DevTools is 1.2.
hence the confusion, now settled by Bill who noticed the same thing in his
past post. I think all our posts are starting to criss-cross: perhaps we
should just let it settle down for a bit. ;-)
Agreed. It seems that when I try to reply to Apple mailing lists in a
timely manner, the posts are delayed for an inordinate amount of
time. I sometimes receive replies before my message even hits the
list, which tends to confuse things even more.
Regarding the different versions of System Events under discussion, I
believe that everything has been clarified sufficiently. :-)
