Emailer, Entourage, Eudora, and Mailsmith. Emailer's is pretty sparse.
With the exception of inability to get a selection (mentioned already)
and the ability to trigger a reply/forward/redirect action (which is
coming), we have everything that Emailer has (plus quite a bit that it
doesn't) with terminology that is fairly similar.
I was just curious as to how far back in history you went with that.
Question: In the following line, why is "get" required? If I omit it,
there is an error.
sender of item 1 of (get selected messages of message viewer 1)
One thing I really miss in Mail that Emailer has (and I realize this
has nothing to do with applescript) is when not using the preview pane,
and reading messages in their own windows, it is not possible to close
a message (with or without deleting it) and opening the next message in
its own window.
I would also like to see the folder list in a separate window rather
than in that sliding drawer--or at least to have the window resize when
the drawer is opened, so the window and drawer are both visible in the
monitor (and of course, to have it expand again when the drawer is
closed).
As good as mail is, I'd love to see emailer carbonized (or rewritten in
cocoa) and made Apple's official email program (with whatever
enhancements that can be added, of course). But that might come from
greater familiarity with the product and with some maternalistic
instincts because I was on its development team for two years.
