Probably because they were intended to be in the UI and didn't make the cut. By then it was too late to take them out (and then you'd be complaining that they were removed).

If you actually take the time to learn and research these issues, you'll realize that everything is not as bleak and stacked against you as you evidently think.

Then please...could you walk down the hall, and ask the Address book people
why they have the script - only properties they do? Like Middle Name, Maiden
Name, etc.

They're evidently being slyly silly.
