do shell of file on CD-ROM

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to do a "do shell" and access a unix file that's been written on a CD-ROM for Mac OS X?

Let's say for instance, that I have a Unix file called "EnableDHCP" and it's written in a folder on the CD-ROM called "DATA". Could I do something like:

do shell script (command to find path of CD-ROM) & ":DATA:EnableDHCP";
