Or go back in time and get A/UX (which Apple originally shipped ONLY
preinstalled on a hard drive which they sent you).

It was the release of A/UX which woke me up and caused me to stop putting /
into file names.

MPW was a pretty good substitute (for about a year I essentially using it
as a Finder replacement, too).
