Hi Michael,

so my questions: is it possible to trigger an applescript
over the intranet *and* could it be done in "real time"
to get the jpg-preview into the filemaker-database?

Short answer: Yes.

I have done a similar thing for a customer to integrate an inhouse picture database with QuarkXPress. A click on a special link in the browser triggers the generation and download of a command file which is then post processed by an AppleScript application which handles the download and import of the picture into an XPress document.

Feel free to contact me directly for the details. (Gerne auch auf Deutsch :-)
