hello,
currently we are developing a filemaker-database, that is accessible
over the internet (intranet), containing several datasets, that should
result in an illustrator 10 file later on.
so my questions: is it possible to trigger an applescript
over the intranet *and* could it be done in "real time"
to get the jpg-preview into the filemaker-database?
Applescripts run by FMP get performed on the local machine.
In our office every machine runs all the apps required to process the
data so it doesn't matter which machine you sit at, the server spits
out the data and the machine you are at processes the data.
There's nothing stopping you from running a script that operates on a
specific machine or from sending instructions to a specific machine.
For images, PDF, etc. we process the data on the local machine and
store the image to a file server, then store a reference to the image
in the database.
