Thanks for the tip. I'd heard of that scripting addition. I'll check
into it.
My question is, is there interest in structured tutorials on creating
applications for Mac OS 9 with Dialog Director and FaceSpan?
Neither of these are very relevant moving forward.
This seems to be the consensus, and I'm leaning toward covering only
Mac OS X, which would, of course, greatly simplify what I need to do,
but I'm still wavering. Anyone other there for the other side, wanting
coverage of Mac OS Classic application creation with AppleScript?
Sounds like your target audience will be the advanced-to-expert
scripter? If
so, then step-by-step instructions of building "Hello, world!"-level
applications won't really cut it, and if you are using AppleScript
Studio,
then you might find it difficult to build anything much bigger.
I disagree. I've seen some very complex things done with ASStudio.
I'll admit that it isn't as easy as it should be in many cases. The
intended audience is people who are familiar with the AppleScript
language but wish to go deeper than I've seen covered in the current
offering of AppleScript books.
Still, I applaud your efforts.
See how you feel once the book comes out. :)
