I recommend off list to Gvran that he buy Smile, and I send him the
relevant excerpt from Smile's dictionary:

converttext :
converttext string -- the string to convert
from string -- the initial encoding
to string -- the requested encoding
Result : string -- the converted string
textencodings :
textencodings
[as type class] -- string or integer, default : string
Result : a list of string -- the available text encodings
