That will do it . . . thanks.

It's not as functional in some ways as OSA menu, it doesn't show application
specific lists, and the list it has must get awfully long, but it appears
that it will do the trick nicely.

Have you tried "ScriptStrip"? It's a Control Strip Module for OS8-9
that launches any compiled script.
Useful and more stable than OSA Menu.
